In prescribing Viagra, a doctor considers the age, general health status, and other medications the patient is taking.

The usual starting dose for most men is 50mg; however, the doctor may increase or decrease the dose depending on side effects and effectiveness. The maximum recommended dose is 100mg every 24 hours.

Many men will need 100mg of Viagra for optimal effectiveness, and some doctors are recommending 100mg as the starting dose. Nevertheless before taking the drug, patients must consult with their doctors and follow directions indicated on the containers of the medication.
