According to the manufacturers of Cialis, Eli Lilly, the most common side effects for men taking Cialis are headache, upset stomach, back pain, and muscle aches.

Men who do experience back pain and muscle aches usually feel it 12 to 24 hours after taking Cialis. Eli Lilly indicates that the side effects caused by Cialis typically go away in a few hours and back pain and muscle aches usually go away within 48 hours.

Their studies also state that in rare instances, men who have taken Cialis have reported a sudden decrease or loss of vision. Yet another rare side effect of Cialis, like the other E.D. drugs is “Priapism”, or a prolonged erection.

Eli Lilly indicates that if a man experiences an erection lasting more than four hours, he should seek immediate medical attention since the condition can cause damage to the penis and potentially lead to the inability to have an erection in the future.

The site recommends that men should drink excessive amounts of alcohol when taking Cialis because it can increase the chances of headache, dizziness, increased heart rate or lower blood pressure. Warnings on the drug recommend men who take the drug to contact their physicians if the side effects of the drug continue to bother them.
