Uprima is a drug approved only in the United Kingdom to treat E.D.

Uprima is a pill taken under the tongue that dissolves within about 15 minutes and is effective for up to two hours. The drug triggers the release of dopamine, one of the chemicals in the brain responsible for achieving and maintaining an erection. Uprima also increases the levels of nitric oxide in the body that dilates blood vessels and increases blood flow to the penis. It also aids in the transmission of the signals from the brain via the spinal cord which in turn promotes blood flow to the penis, helping to achieve an erection. It should be noted that Uprima will not work without sexual stimulation.

Uprima should be taken 15 minutes prior to engaging in any sexual activity, and should only be taken one time in any 8 hour period.

Uprima is not without side effects and two of the most serious side effects discovered are mild to severe nausea and hypotension. There have also been reports of blood pressure dropping so significantly as to cause fainting. The hypotension effect is enhanced by alcohol intake, and a recommendation has been made to put a warning to this effect on the drug when prescribed.
